Modifying Add/Remove Windows Components Items
(Windows 2000 and XP)

Not all items are listed in the components window.  You may have the option of installing or removing other components by modifying the INF file that regulates this list.

The filename is SYSOC.INF and is located in the systemroot\inf folder.  To hide components in the list insert the word HIDE between the two commas in the statement:

To unhide a item, remove the work HIDE from between the commas.  Save the file and reopen Add/Remove Windows Components.
